"VIBRATION
MONITOR"
is an
instrument
which
monitors
peak to
peak levels
of
Displacement
(or
Velocity)
of
Vibration
of rotating
machines
and other
equipments
prone to
vibration,
and provide
a relay
output to
trip power
supply to
the system
using the
contactor
in the
starter
when the
level of
the
vibration
increases
above the
set value.
The
equipment
consists of
an Electro
Dynamic
Sensor
which is to
be mounted
on the
surface of
the body
where
vibrations
are to be
monitored,
a switching
unit with a
set point
potentiometer
with the
range
switch with
3 levels of
50, 100 and
200 microns
(higher
ranges can
also be
supplied or
5, 10,
20mm/sec.

LEDS are
provided
for (A)
testing (B)
for
indicating
when 80% of
the set
level is
reached and
crossed and
(C) 100% of
the Set
value.
The
displacement
of
vibration
(peak to
peak) value
is selected
depending
upon
various
factors
including
direction,
speed,
etc.
This value
is set
using the
range
selector
when 80% of
the set
value is
reached the
corresponding
LED will
glow.
An output
is also
provided
for
connection
to an
alarm.
This is to
indicate
that the
displacement
is nearing
dangerous
levels and
that the
machine
requires
attention.
If the
equipment
is
continued
to be used,
a trip
signal is
provided,
when the
set value
is
reached.
